Making behaviour easy to talk about: focus on the map, not on the person
Participants have their own place in The World of Difference and stand on it together, facilitated by a Guide. Insight is the first step. The conversation does the rest.
Discover MapsTell

A profile tells you something. A conversation changes something.
MapsTell maps behaviour and gets people moving. Participants complete a short questionnaire and receive their PersonalMap: a personal profile presented in the World of Difference, a map featuring sixteen behavioural types. A certified Guide uses the map to facilitate meaningful conversations that turn insight into action.
The pattern is familiar. People complete a questionnaire, recognise themselves in the results and nod in agreement. Two weeks later, however, old patterns have taken over again. And when behaviour is discussed, the conversation often revolves around boxes and stereotypes rather than what is actually happening between people. This is rarely because of the profile itself. It is because of what did—or did not—happen next.

Sixteen styles and thousands of words for behaviour

From ME-level to YOU-level and WE-level
Participants progress through three levels, each building naturally on the one before it.
The profile, the map and the Guide reinforce each other
The PersonalMap shows where you stand. The floormap brings the World of Difference to life, gets people moving and makes behavioural dynamics visible. The Guide facilitates the journey.
Every person is 100% unique
A place on the map describes behaviour, not the person. We place behaviour in Areas while giving people the freedom to move between them. The same person may behave differently in a difficult meeting, during a brainstorm, at home or at work. Every situation calls for something different.
This also changes the conversation. Instead of saying, “That’s just who you are,” you can ask, “in this kind of situation I see this happening with you, do you recognise that?” That opens up an entirely different conversation.

Younger generations in particular refuse to be pinned down and want to work in a way that feels right and real. MapsTell helps them talk about that: where are we on the map and which route suits us?

MapsTell helps me bring people along right away. Participants gain insight into behaviour quickly, without resistance and without it becoming heavy or complicated.

Building a world of understanding
That may sound like a big ambition for a map with mountains and boats. But it starts small: with two colleagues who finally understand what causes friction between them and find the words to talk about it together.

Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often, with a short and clear answer.
What exactly is MapsTell?
MapsTell maps behaviour onto a map: The World of Difference. Participants complete a short questionnaire and receive their PersonalMap, a personal profile. A certified Guide uses that map, and often the Floormap of The World of Difference as well, to lead the conversation about behaviour and collaboration.
How do you make behaviour discussable in a team?
DISC is de meetmethode; MapsTell is de vertaling naar gedrag, taal en beweging. De kaart maakt verschillen veilig zichtbaar en bespreekbaar.
What makes MapsTell different from a personality test?
With a test, the outcome is the end point, a piece of interpretation. With MapsTell, the profile is the starting point. Not an absolute truth, but a highly efficient way to talk about serious things in an accessible way: the conversation between people, led by a Guide, in which insight is translated into behaviour at work.
Isn't MapsTell just putting people in a different box?
No. We have put behaviour into boxes, not people. People are free to travel across the boundaries of those boxes. Your place is a starting point, and we talk about behaviour that changes with context. With thousands of behavioural descriptors and metaphors there is room for that nuance, and the map invites you to move.
Does this come on top of the programme we already have?
MapsTell does not replace your programme, it strengthens it at the moments that matter. Guides use the map where it adds the most: in a one hour coaching conversation, on a team day, or at three points in a multi day leadership programme. What participants experience there, they take with them into the rest of the programme.
Who is MapsTell for?
For HR and L&D professionals, trainers, coaches, managers and teachers who work with individuals, teams or classes on collaboration and communication. They either certify as a Guide, or bring one in.
Start with a conversation, not a decision
In a 30-minute Discovery Call, we explain how the World of Difference works, what it can bring and what it costs. And we get to know you: who do you work with, and what do you want to achieve?
