Do I have to certify to work with this?
Yes. Working with the PersonalMap and the Floormap requires certification. Knowing the model is different from being able to facilitate a group with it.
What does the certification look like?
It is delivered entirely online. You start with a self-paced e-learning that covers The World of Difference, PersonalMapping, the map metaphor and the teaching principles behind the method. Alongside that there are live virtual sessions in which you practise with real cases, work with PersonalMapping and facilitate with the Floormap. You keep access to the GuideJourney afterwards.
Am I tied to a subscription afterwards?
No. There are different licence options, for people who use MapsTell occasionally and for people who work with it intensively. You can switch every year. We will think along with you about what fits your practice and include that in your quotation.
May I use this in my own programmes?
Yes, that is the idea. MapsTell does not deliver training itself and provides the method, the tools and the content. You decide how you use them, with your own audience and in your own style. After certification you of course receive enough core materials to get started.
Do I get assignments through MapsTell?
Organisations looking for a Guide are put in touch by us with a Guide who fits their group, language and sector. So certification is not a guarantee of work, but you do become visible.
Does this work with groups that don't like training?
Often especially with those groups. There is theory behind the method, but you start by doing: you stand on a map, you walk around and you point things out. That works at every level, from the shop floor to the executive team.
